Amateur (2016)

A basketball recruiter employs under-the-table methods to convince a high school star to transfer schools. AMATEUR is the lead-in short film for the forthcoming Netflix feature of the same name, which follows a 14 year-old athlete through the competitive world of youth basketball. This short focuses on an encounter between a street agent and an older high school player.

Directed by Darius Clark Monroe and executive produced by Spike Lee, this documentary short tells the story of what happened when a group of college athletes decided to protest a long-standing racial injustice.

The Deep Place (2017)

Thousands of children between the ages of 6 and 18 live in slavery on Lake Volta, working up to 18 hours a day in the fishing industry. All the names and locations have been changed to protect his real identity.

Full Circle (2011)

"Full Circle" follows Ethan, a destitute kleptomaniac, through his normal procedures of his day to day. Entirely taking place in a drug store, Ethan's intentions are clear, he is looking to shoplift something of value. The opportunity presents itself, and he pick pockets a man for his wallet. Inside he doesn't find money, but a prescription. Attempting to fill the prescription, he meets a girl along the way.

Grey Bull (2014)

When Martin, a South Sudanese refugee, happens upon a bull he believes is his spiritual totem, he decides to rescue it from the abattoir he works in. Once home, the bull begins to jeopardize Martin’s family’s chance at fitting in. Martin is torn between his ancient cultural identity and his family’s new life in Australia. 

Hold Me Down (2018)

Based on true events, Hold Me Down depicts a day in the life of a 19-year-old single mother who works as a stripper at an illegal nightclub to support her child in the South Bronx. It is filmed in the locations where the events depicted actually occurred; in the Mott Haven Housing Projects and in an actual brothel, and features a cast of non-actors / women survivors of sexual exploitation and domestic violence.
