CHRIS ROCK AND SAMUEL L. JACKSON TO STAR IN CLASSIC HORROR REBOOT 'SAW'

Lionsgate's most successful horror franchise is back with Chris Rock serving as executive producer on the latest Saw project. Originally slated for release closer to Halloween on October 23, 2020, Lionsgate moved up the release date by five months to May 15, 2020.

Described as a re-imagining and a spinning-off of the multi-million dollar franchise, the untitled film is currently shooting in Toronto.

Rock plays a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes with Samuel L. Jackson portraying Rock’s father. Max Minghella, Marisa Nichols and Morgan David Jones also lead the cast. Rock is producing the film alongside Saw executive producer Daniel Heffner and the original creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell. The movie is being directed by Darren Lynn Bousman who also directed Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV.

Saw garnered $874.1 million worldwide in box office sales following its debut in 2004.
